It is popularly said that “ திருவாசகத்திற்கு உருகாதார் ஓர் வாசகத்திற்கும் உருகார்” (“Thiruvasagam urukkaadhar oru vasagathirkum urkaar”) meaning “If Thiruvasagam does not make someone’s heart melt with devotion, then nothing else would”
Indeed, the 95 verses of Thiuvasagam starts with the Siva Puranam. The great work Thiruvasagam by 9th century Tamil Shaivite Saint Shri Manickavachakar, is not complete without his master piece – Siva Puranam.
